Jana Call, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a dual certified Nurse Practitioner in Family and Psychiatric/Mental Health. She has 14 years of combined clinical experience in urgent care and behavioral health sciences with a passion for helping others.
Jana was born and raised in Pontotoc, MS. As a student at South Pontotoc High School, she dreamed of being a psychologist and went on to attend Ole Miss to pursue a psychology degree. While she was a student, a family emergency helped her realize her true calling for nursing. After she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Ole Miss, she went to Itawamba Community College and received her Associates in Nursing degree. She began her nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Oxford and then transferred to North Mississippi Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Center where she worked for five years while obtaining her Master’s in Nursing in family practice from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Jana has used her skills and knowledge to provide for the community of Pontotoc at RedMed Urgent Care Clinic since 2013.
When the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, Jana noticed an increased need in psychiatric services in the community. With her unrelenting passion for psychiatric care, Jana obtained her post Master’s certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health care from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2022. She has trained with specialists at the Center for Advancement of Youth in Jackson, MS and Miller Psychiatry in Saltillo, MS.
Jana has five children with husband, Jamie, and two dogs, Chevy and Sunni. She enjoys traveling, running, biking, kickboxing, and watching her kids play sports. Her goal for each patient is to help them achieve their best self, holistically.
